Plot.

The action takes place in Andalusia, in the years of the French occupation. Carmen, who is the most famous singer in the whole country, is an inconstant woman who distributes her feelings among three men. One of them is named Antonio, and it is a former captain of the regular army, who is now the head of a guerrilla party, with which he strikes hand in hand against the French patrols. The second man who shares Carmen's affections is José, a sergeant of the French troops, whose interests are opposed to those of Antonio, rival on two fronts. The third man of Carmen's life is a famous bullfighter from Ronda. Carmen carries within her a tragic sin that affects, fundamentally, all the men who are related to her.
