Plot.
Marja tries to make ends meet by taking night shifts in a newspaper delivery service, apparently mostly carried out by foreigners. During the day, she sleeps and strives to raise her little daughter as best as she can. As a single parent and lacking a solid income, life is a constant struggle. Things are about to go from bad to worse when she meets her ex-boyfriend whose obsessive demeanour about whether he is the father of Marja´s child will drive her to the edge of sanity.

Silmäterä is a 2013 Finnish film by Jan Forsström. It is the first film to be directed by Forsström himself, after he had already drawn attention to himself as a screenwriter.The film deals with mother's love and fear of foreign influences from a sense of insecurity and was inspired by real events.The production costs amounted to 526,000 euros.The film was first presented in June 2013; in August 2013 he participated in the Espoo International Film Festival.In September 2013 he came to the Finnish cinemas.In Germany, the film participated in the International Film Festival Mannheim-Heidelberg.
