Plot.
A forty year old woman, who has been in an asylum, goes to live with her brother's family. She proves incapable of adapting herself to family life, takes refuge in the country alone with her memories, and is later returned to the asylum.

L'ospite (English: The Guest) is a 1972 Italian drama film directed by Liliana Cavani and starring Lucia Bosè. The plot follows a woman who, once released from a mental hospital, tries in vain to fit into society. Made with a very low budget, it was shown out of competition at the Venice Film Festival.
