Tom and the Ghost (Fraidy Cat) is a 1942 film directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. It is the fourth animated short film of the Tom & Jerry series, produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and released in the United States on January 17, 1942. It is the first animated cartoon of the series in which Tom suffers from pain as well as squeezing like a cat, and the first product in time of war. It was reissued in 1952.
