The film stars Queen Latifah, Betsy Brandt, Jill Scott, Sandy Jobin-Bevans, and Marin Ireland. Queen Latifah had won one Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Television Movie, Limited Series or Dramatic Special and the film was nominated for two Image Awards, a Critics' Choice Television Award and a Primetime Emmy Award.
