O Palmenbaum is a 2000 German-Austrian feature film directed by Xaver Schwarzenberger. The Christmas comedy is based on a screenplay by Ulrike Schwarzenberger and is a continuation of the three years earlier released single Bells (1997).The film tells again about the Viennese couple Kati and Jonas, portrayed by Martina Gedeck and Gregor Bloéb, who, after a dispute in the previous year, decides to let himself be trusted in all seclusion for Christmas in distant Mauritius – without having reckoned with Kati's family.O Palmenbaum was produced by the team film Production in co-production with the ORF and the BR. The filming took place in spring 2000 among others in Vienna and Mauritius.
