Synopsis.

Le 30 mai 1889, le barrage South Fork, qui gardait un lac de plaisance pour les riches industriels de Pittsburgh et leurs familles, échoua en raison de pluies très fortes et de mauvais entretien par les propriétaires du barrage. Le barrage a envoyé un mur d'eau et de débris, de 40 pieds de haut et un demi-mille de large, 14 miles en aval à la ville industrielle animée de Johnstown, Pennsylvanie. Plus de 2000 personnes ont perdu la vie dans le désastre. Ce documentaire raconte l'histoire, et nous dit que le désastre était facilement évitable.
