Plot.
While Franco agonizes in the Palace of El Pardo, in the autumn of 1975, Fede, a 14-year-old boy who takes on adolescence, tries to join the gang of boys in his neighborhood, Las Islas, a working-class and suburban nucleus. Fede laments his luck: he would want his friend Sara to trust him with the dark secret he shares with a poor girl named Ramona; that Javi, the guru of the group, treats him as one more of the panda; that his parents would have taken him to school in the neighborhood, instead of in the Jesuits; being able to gather enough courage to confront Richard and his band; not having to share his room with his old Republican grandfather; getting the chrome of the skull; having television in color. While reality denies him his desires, the mysteries that emanate from the neighborhood multiply in his imagination, without finding an answer.
