In search of a better life for himself and his family, Lei begins a new life in the United States. Beginning on the first day of Lei's arrival in Los Angeles, this documentary follows Lei's journey to find employment and stability, and through the struggles associated with an unfamiliar culture and language. First Lei finds work in construction, then in a restaurant. Throughout the film, Lei maintains contact with his family, but his loneliness shows through.
