Wiki.
Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year is a 2009 Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama film directed by Shimit Amin, written by Jaideep Sahni and produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner. Marking the reunion of Amin, Sahni and Aditya Chopra after Chak De! India (2007), it stars Ranbir Kapoor as the titular lead Harpreet S. Bedi, with D. Santosh, Gauhar Khan and Naveen Kaushik in the leads roles. Prem Chopra, Manish Chaudhari and debutante Shazahn Padamsee, daughter of Alyque Padamsee and Sharon Prabhakar, play supporting roles.
Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year released on 11 December 2009, grossing ₹33.65 crore worldwide, thus emerging as a commercial failure at the box office. However, the film received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics, with praise for its novel concept, story and cast performances, with major praise for Kapoor's performance; however its screenplay and pacing received criticism.
At the 55th Filmfare Awards, Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year received 3 nominations, including Best Story and Best Dialogue (both for Sahni), winning Best Actor (Critics) (Kapoor).
ASTPL, an Indian software developer, also released a mobile video game based on the film.
