Germany, 1945, during the last days of the Second World War the Americans and Soviets are advancing rapidly and, in order to prevent the Red Army from pushing too far west, the US command orders Sergeant Richard to blow up a bridge on the Elba River with a team of only five men; however, the bridge is heavily guarded by German soldiers and the undertaking is proving very difficult.
