Wiki.
The Red Rock, sometimes also Photini Sandri, is a Greek film directed by Grigóris Grigoríou and released in 1949.Grigóris Grigoríou describes in his memoirs the conflicts that opposed him during the shooting to his director of photography, Dimítrios Gaziádis. The latter was a follower of the "old school": fixed camera and actors entering and leaving the field. Grigoríou wanted more close planes to accentuate the psychology of the characters. The technique of the time did not allow him to obtain what he wanted and the vision of Gaziadis was imposed. However, at the assembly, Grigoríou succeeded, overimposed plans and images to express the psychological torments of the characters. The island of Zante where the film was shot was almost destroyed by the earthquake of 1953 and the film constitutes one of the rare testimonies of the island before its destruction.
