Eloisa is an orphan, promised by Agustín, who knows her when she comes to Madrid fleeing from the ill-treatment of her stepmother. She goes by being the mother of an illegitimate son, but in reality the mother is her cousin Irene (with whom she lives, along with her aunt) married to Mr. Adrian. Her aunt Marcelina tries with this lie to save her daughter Irene. After numerous family connections, the truth is clarified and the boyfriends can live together and in peace.
