"The Vetter Basilio" is a 1959 film by Portuguese director Antnio Lopes Ribeiro. It is one of the most famous works of Portuguese writer José Maria Ea de Queiroz, one of the most well-known films of the satirical romance novel. It was the last full-length film by the director. Although the film is loosened up by some music and occasional cheerful scenes, it cannot be attributed to the genre of the Comdia portuguese.
