Polina Moroz is the most authoritative person in her native village "Zavidovo". She is a doctor from God and, having lost her job, could go to work in the city, but she remains where she is most needed and continues to help her fellow villagers in everything - from cutting baby teeth to gunshot wounds, not dividing neighbors into right and wrong. Passions in "Zavidovo" are boiling serious, and the troubles of the villagers, whether it is the division of property or the tyranny of the husband-bandit, differ from the city ones only in that they happen in plain sight. A doctor is almost a priest, says Polina, and readily accepts to solve personal problems of fellow villagers.. Only here the happiness of Polina herself remains in question .
