Plot.
Erik Dahl escapes from prison where he is serving a sentence for smuggling. He seeks out his family, but the police have already been there, and he will have to flee. Erik alters their appearance and start a new life as fishmonger in a small town, but he plans to leave the country..

Ukjent mann (Unknown Man) is a Norwegian black-and-white crime film from 1951 directed by Astrid Henning-Jensen, who was also the screenwriter. The film is based on Arthur Omre's novel Flukten from 1936. Alfred Maurstad appears in the title role.The outdoor scenes, which make up approximately 90% of the film, were shot in Åndalsnes, Bergen, and Copenhagen.
