Plot.
An actress is about to play the part of Mariana Alcoforado, a young nun from the convent of Beja who was writing five letters to her French lover, the officer De Chamilly. The actress, being the perfect embodiment of Mariana, will drive us to a journey beyond time and imagination.

Bruno Franois-Boucher directed The Portuguese Letters, which was released in France on May 13, 2015. It is said to have been written by a Portuguese nun in the 17th century of the convent of Beja. At the Vincennes International Heritage Film Meetings, the Titanic International Festival of Budapest and the Alexandria International Festival for Mediterranean Countries in Egypt, the film was selected. It was shot in both Portugal and France.
