Plot.
Sprotte is about 12 years old and has a "gang" with her three friends Frieda, Melanie and Trude. Together the girls take Care of Sprottes grandmothers chickens. The new girl in School, Wilma, wishes to join the group, which Melanie is very unhappy about, and on top of all of that they have an on going revalisasion with a group of boys. Sprottes grandmother is planning on slaughtering the chickens! Will the Wild Chicks be able to save them?

Charlotte and her band (original title: Die Wilden Hühner) is a German film directed by Vivian Naefe (from) released in 2006. It is the adaptation of the literary series for teens Die Wilden Hühner by Cornelia Funke, which then includes five volumes. It relies heavily on the third. Only the moment when the band is founded is taken from the first volume. Wilma's entry into the band comes from the second volume and is rewritten to adapt to the film. It will be the subject of two sequels: Charlotte and her band 2: first loves in 2007 and Charlotte and her band: towards adulthood in 2009.
