Plot.
Matti Kassila's directorial debut, musical comedy The Master Plays the Accordion (1949) based on a play and novel by Tatu Pekkarinen. In Peräkylä, Hurula's mistress (Siiri Angerkoski) has forbidden her cheerleader (Kalle Viherpuu) to play joy and play the accordion. Solemnly behaving host Ernesti Juntukainen (Jalmari Rinne) sues his wife Hirkula's daughter Pirkko (Eila Peitsalo). However, this falls in love with the village’s new cantor, Pelle Vuorio (Rolf Labbart), but multiple misunderstandings are driving things completely into a knot.
