Friedrich Kappeler directed the film Mani Matter. The film about the singer Mani Matter, who died in 1972, became the most successful documentary film of all time in Switzerland. Interviews with family members and friends, as well as many well-known Swiss musicians and small artists were used in the biography of Mani Matters. In between, recordings of Matter's performances, cover versions of his songs as well as private recordings are shown. The actors are Joy Matter, Dodo Hug, Stephan Eicher, Urs Frauchiger, Polo Hofer and Kuno Lauener. The film can be purchased on DVD.
