Plot.
At dawn on June 13, 1944, Germans and Fascists from the Social Republic surrounded the mining village of Niccioleta, surprising in their sleep those who will soon go to work.. One hundred and sixty men are rounded up. Locked up in an air-raid shelter, interrogated and beaten, after the killing of six that more than the others were suspected of connivances with the partisans, the oldest are released, while the youngest are sent to Castelnuovo Val di Cecina. Seventy-seven of the latter, whose names appeared on the list of those who had participated in the guard shifts for the protection of the plants against German destruction, are brought into a depression, among the boraciferous shower heads, and killed there with a machine gun. It was June 14, 1944. The total victims of the massacre were 83.
