Plot.
If Galileo removed the Earth from the center of the universe, Darwin, he removed man from the center of creation, in fact giving him common ancestors with the apes.. Two scientific revolutions, two destabilizations of religious dogma. On the evening of his existence, Charles Darwin (played by Jean-Pierre Marielle) tells us about his life in first person. The old man retraces the journey that led to the publication of the origin of species. In this work with (r) evolutionary ideas, man exposes a theory that his family, his friends and all the English bourgeoisie of the time forbade: evolution is done by chance, so it is not God who created man. Three specialists, Pascal Picq, paleoanthropologist at the Collège de France; Pierre-Henri Gouyon, naturalist at the Natural History Museum in Paris and Thierry Hoquet, philosopher at the University of Nanterre, decipher Darwin's theory of evolution to make it accessible to all.
