In 1947, in order to save his dying fate, Chiang Kai-shek's bandit army launched a large-scale attack on our Shaan-Gan-Ning Liberated Area. Under the guidance of Mao Zedong's strategic thinking, our army took the initiative to withdraw from Yan'an in order to lure the enemy to deepen, concentrate superior forces, and eliminate the enemy's vital forces. After Hu Zongnan's army occupied Yan'an, they were elated. Soon, they discovered that this was not a victory, but squeezed into a dead end our army set up for them.
