Plot.
The brewer stood at the birth of modern Slovak pantomime in the early 1960s. He continued the work of French mimes, but very quickly developed his own theatrical language. His performances Hrča, Abduction into Silence, Starinár discovered a new theatrical form for our audience, influenced not only our but also European theatergoers.. After the entry of Soviet troops in 1968, Milan Sládek emigrated to Germany. He toured the world with his performances, founded the Kefka Pantomime Theater and the Kaukliar International Theater Festival.. Today he lives and works in Cologne and despite the fact that he is more than eighty years old, he still plays his performances.. The film is rich in archival materials, photographs, recordings of performances and testimonies of artists' collaborators. It is a testimony not only to the individual efforts of Milan Sládek, but also to the fates of a whole generation of Slovak theatergoers.
