Benjamin Britten: Billy Budd

Plot.
The release of Billy Budd by Benjamin Britten in Madrid marks, without a doubt, one of the great events of the Bicentenary of the Royal Theatre. His magnificent libretto based on Herman Melville's homonymous work, tells the story of sailor Billy Budd: a beautiful, loyal, generous, strong, naive and kind young man who manages to unravel with his beauty and personality the master of arms of the ship, who is unable to channel the situation, and crucifies the naive without glances. This new production of the Royal Theatre is presented for the first time in Madrid, in co-production with the Opéra National de Paris, by Deborah Warner, one of the great names of the current stage management.
