A girl (Elke Sommer) gets into the merciless mill of a soulless legislation, which only depends on the letters. She lives out her feelings unconditionally. Her opponent is a morally preaching prosecutor (Wolfgang Preiss), whom no one can detract from his hypocritical morality. Only when he gets into the vortex of an uninhibited passion, he realizes that his life was actually meaningless.
