Jesus loves me is a 2012 German feature film by and with Florian David Fitz. The love comedy is freely based on motifs by David Safier's eponymous novel, published in 2008, and tells of Marie, played by Jessica Schwarz, who, shortly after her failed marriage plans, falls in love with God's son Jeshua, embodied by Fitz. This, in turn, has come to earth to initiate the upcoming apocalypse. Further roles include Henry Hübchen, Hannelore Elsner, Peter Prager, Palina Rojinski, Nicholas Ofczarek and Michael Gwisdek.Fitz, after Vincent will Meer (2010), appeared for the first time not only as the main actor and author, but also as a director. The production took over the UFA Cinema in co-production with the broadcaster ZDF. The film was published throughout Germany on 20 December 2012 by Warner Bros. Pictures Germany and received mixed reviews. The comedy attracted more than 300,000 visitors to the cinemas and was also awarded the Jupiter in the category "Best German Film".
