Plot.
We are in Naples during the first half of the 17th century. The son of the viceroy is in love with the sister of Masaniello, a populous rebel at the impositions of the Bourbon government. The girl becomes mute after being tortured because she does not want to reveal the hideout of her brother. However, she will be able to save the life of the noble at the outbreak of the popular revolt.
