Wiki.
Exit, the right to die is a Swiss documentary film directed by Fernand Melgar, released in 2005. Filmed in direct cinema, the film accompanies volunteers of the Exit association who have the mission of offering suicide assistance to convicted persons or those who wish to die. It revives the debate on assisted suicide in the Swiss population, the only country in the world, due to a legal vacuum, to authorize this practice in 2005. Norbert Creutz du Temps notes – "Exit, the right to die raises the veil pudically on a taboo. It is his great merit. But it is guessed that this is only the beginning of a debate called to take on the scale".After the release of the film and the strong mediaization of the EXIT association, the Federal Council has commissioned the Federal Department of Justice and Police to carry out a new examination of the situation. It is praised by the critics and receives the prize for the best documentary at the Prix du Cinéma Suisse and the Golden Link Award for the best European co-production.The film is available free in VOD.
