This Movie Is About.
Wiki.
Almas de América is a 1931 Mexican film directed by director Adolfo Bustamante Moreno. It is a religious semi-documentary film written by Alfredo Lerron and Juan Pompa y Pompa. The film tells the story of a farmer and his children. It tells them about the history of Mexico, where past events are shown in retrospect. Religious events such as the appearance of the Virgin of Guadalupe are emphasized. In 1931 the farmer and Raffael, his eldest son, visited together the Basilica de Nuestra Señora Guadalupe on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the apparition of the Virgin. There Raffael Angélica met and the two fell in love with each other. The two were separated again, but ten years later they met again in the same place and came together. The film was produced by the film company La Mexicana. The production was finished only in 1941. Almas de América was not published commercially. The funding was probably taken over by the church. The actors were amateur actors.
