This film project was accompanied by all kinds of difficulties. There were problems with the equipment, with the attitude of the prison administration and the inmates. The concert was planned and filmed by the project managers, and the inmates were responsible for the process. Of the many artists who had been invited, only Joan Baez, B.B. King, The Voices of East Harlem, and comedian Jimmy Walker, the film's contents are the concert preparations, interviews with prisoners, the former director, guards, and finally the concert itself.
