Memory mechanisms are mysterious: we only see the stories we choose in order to construct our own reality. Every mark is a message in time, the invocation of an absence. To travel in the memory is to walk in time, zigzagging, a long road permeated by a dark, indecipherable logic… if we could choose seven moments to sum up our entire life, which ones would they be? The Dance of the Memory is a documentary-essay that guides us in that autobiographical search, where image and memory intertwine. It mixes archive material with an aesthetic and subjective tone.

The dance of the hip camp is a long documentary film of appropriation or also called Found footage made from family archive material in cinema and video of the director's family, Gabriela Domínguez Ruvalcaba (Chiapas, 1981). The film addresses the theme of memory and the creation of memories with scientific data but from the personal perspective of its creator. It was premiered in the 29th edition of the International Film Festival of Guadalajara (FICG) within the Ibero-American Documental Feature Film section, winning a mention. After its passage through the FICG, the documentary was selected for the 12th edition of the International Film Festival of Morelia (FICM), within the section of the International Film Film Festival of Guadalajara (FICG). It became the only production of its genre by the end of the period of its official selection of the two most important Californian awards of the Mexican industry.
