Plot.
After being injured and doing a bid in prison due to Memphis, her former drug trafficking boyfriend, Sasha comes out into the arms of Malik. Malik spoils her with gifts and gets her a job at his real estate office. However, Malik constantly uses his gifts and her past against her to keep her in his grasp. A love struck Sasha falls head over heels for Malik who slowly attempts to alienate her from her close ones and secretly plots against her. Her therapist and unexpected new friends opens her eyes to her history of relationships and gives her advice on how to deal with them and getting her life back.

Bid for Love is a 2022 American romantic drama film written by Erick S. Gray and N'Tyse and directed by Arthur Muhammad. The film loosely based on the play My Mistakes Do Not Define Me by Lawainna Patterson and Shelly Garrett. The film stars Dawn Halfkenny, Blue Kimble, Adrian Lockett and Tami Roman. It follows recently released from the prison Sasha (played by Halfkenny) who falls in love with the manipulative Malik (Lockett). Her therapist (Roman) helps her avoid the same problems that landed her in prison during her past relationship with ex-boyfriend Memphis (Kimble).
The film was released by BET+ on June 22, 2022. A sequel, Bid for Love 2 set for 2024 release by BET+.
