Plot.
District inspector Pokorny was transferred some time ago from Vienna to the – fictitious – Upper Austrian Mühlstadt, after he physically attacked a suspect in the service. There, as he says, he has to "put himself in jail with idiotic jitters who steal each other the Hendl." Short trial was now made to the policeman Oberwachmann Janisch, who has to go to prison for a robbery at the post office in Litzelsdorf for seven years. His colleagues do not trust him to do this and try to grasp the true perpetrators. At the same time, they have to deal with a variety of other cases.
