Plot.
‘Sandhya Raga’, based on a popular Kannada novel, is about a young man Lakshmana, who dedicates his life to music. He belongs to a sophisticated family and his father is a much-respected cultured man of the village. While his brother chooses a secure job for the power and comforts it offers, Lakshmana is not after fame and money. He wants to master the art of music. The film captures the trials and tribulations Lakshmana undergoes before he succeeds in winning the hearts of music connoisseurs.

Sandhya Raga () is a 1966 Indian Kannada-language film directed by A. C. Narasimha Murthy and co-produced by him alongside A. Prabhakara Rao. The film stars Rajkumar, Udaykumar, Narasimharaju and K. S. Ashwath. The musical score was composed by G. K. Venkatesh.
The famous song Nambide Ninna Naadadevathe features three versions: one sung by M. Balamurali Krishna, another by Pt. Bhimsen Joshi (during the climax), and a female version by S.Janaki. Director S. K Bhagawan revealed that, though he directed the film, he was not officially credted for it. He also mentioned that A. N. Krishna Rao and Beechi had co- written the dialogues with him for the film. The film is based on the novel of same name by A. N. Krishna Rao.
