An irreproachable bank employee disappears with a large sum and the insurance entrusts the case to a legal collaborator who investigates with the help of the secretary Valentina. The two find in the house of the disappeared several letters of an unknown woman and a cut of ads appeared on a newspaper to which they respond. From the meetings that follow the events, comic or dramatic, of a diverse humanity: a former prisoner, a careless employee of a Lotto Bank, a shy young woman under the care of a pre-potent mother, a deceased elderly viviour. There is also a severe zoology professor whose announcement is only a joke of his students. In the end none of these events gives the solution of the case. The lawyer and Valentina discover that it was the unexpected banker who subtracted the sum, although with the exhilarating desire to help a daughter.
