Magellan (Portuguese: Magalhães) is an upcoming historical drama film written and directed by Lav Diaz, in his first film in Portuguese and Spanish. It stars Gael García Bernal as Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan, and follows the Portuguese and Spanish colonial campaigns in the Philippines in the early 16th century.
The film will have its world premiere at the Cannes Premiere section of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.
