Plot.
The French official Gustavo Larange, is seriously injured during a secret mission in Spain. He is treated by a Spanish doctor, who knows nothing about the identity of Larange. Larange in this frantic, falls in love with Elisabetta, daughter of the doctor. The doctor, following an attack on the French troops, is arrested together with other patriots and sentenced to forced labor. A child, Guglielmina, will be born, who is the fruit of love between Larange and Elisabetta. Years later, now grown, the young woman, desperate for an impossible love, enters the convent.
