Master of Death is an investigative feature film by filmmaker Daniel Harrich from 2015, awarded by the Grimme Prize, based on his years of research into illegal weapons transactions and revealing the entanglements of German officials of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy, the Federal Foreign Office, the Ministry of Defence and the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control. Currently, several criminal investigations are under way against German small arms manufacturers based on the research of this project.On the day of broadcast, 23 September 2015, a current hour took place in the German Bundestag during the shipments of weapons to Mexico, which were investigated for the film.On 5 November 2015, the Stuttgart Public Prosecutor's Office charged six former employees of the German weapons producer Heckler & Koch with the suspicion of violations of the German War Weapons Control Act and Foreign Economics Act of the Federal Republic of Germany during exports to Mexico.At the Grimme Prize 2016, Daniel Harrich and his team for the research on the ARD theme evening of death exports – consisting of the investigative play film Master of Death, the documentary Tödliche Exports – Wie das G36 nach Mexico gehmen und Beiträge in der Beiträge mit Beitungen von Menüber die Welt.
