Plot.
A village in the Lüneburger Heide. Heideschulmeister Brettschneider wants to retire. As his successor, the young teacher Hanne Brink applied. She convinces in a trial lesson and gets the job overjoyed. What nobody knows - she applied for the job in the Heideschule, to the doctor Dr. Martin Newiger to be close to. Already at the station she also makes the acquaintance of the horse breeder Ulrich Haagen, who is not unsympathetic to her. Haagen manages the stud of director Moralt and is friends with his daughter Manuela.

Melody of the Heath (German: Heidemelodie) is a 1956 West German romance film directed by Ulrich Erfurth and starring Carsta Löck, Martin Benrath and Kurt Vespermann. It is part of the post-war tradition of heimatfilm, taking place on Lüneburg Heath. It was shot in eastmancolor.
