Plot.
In 1980s Hollywood, action star Johnny Cage is looking to become an A-list actor. But when his costar, Jennifer, goes missing from set, Johnny finds himself thrust into a world filled with shadows, danger, and deceit. Mortal Kombat Legends: Cage Match is a 2023 American direct-to-video adult animated martial arts film based on the Mortal Kombat franchise, and produced by Warner Bros. Animation. It is the fourth installment in the Mortal Kombat Legends series and serves as an origin story for Johnny Cage, focusing on his attempt to save his co-star Jennifer Grey while fighting a secret society that plots the destruction of Earthrealm. This was Gilbert Gottfried's final film appearance following his death in the previous year.
The film was released October 17, 2023 on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital. It received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics.
