Plot.
A teacher from Amalfi, during World War I, is the lover of a baron. She gives birth to a child, but the baron marries another girl. The teacher's son grows up with the son of the balia, whom he looks like. Then the teacher takes with her the two children, but she doesn't know who her son is. The two believe themselves brothers, become young, and fall in love with the same girl. One of the two wants to marry the girl and the teacher intervenes, because the girl would also be the Baron's daughter. The young man, to avoid an incest, leaves: it is a blow for the girl, whose health worsens. Later the young man learns that she is not his sister, but it is too late.
