Wiki.
Single Bells is a German-Austrian feature film by the director Xaver Schwarzenberger from 1997. The satirical Christmas comedy is based on a screenplay by his former wife Ulrike Schwarzenberger and tells of the Austrian family Moor, who finds herself together for Christmas in the surrounding area of Vienna, but steers from a catastrophe into the next, when beside the two unequal mothers of the married couple Jo and Luiserl also announces Luiserl's sister Kati, who is seeking refuge with the family for a hand-resistant dispute with his friend Jonas. Single Bells was realized by the team film production in co-production with the ORF and the Telepool. The filming took place from February to March 1997 in Vienna, Freistadt and Mariazell. Martina Gedeck, Gregor Bloéb, Erwin Steinhauer, Mona Seefried, Inge Konradi and Johanna von Koczian played the leading roles in the film. Through its annual repetition, the film has since been able to achieve cult character. In 2000 a sequel appeared with O Palmenbaum.
