The Shapeshifter gains its strength by absorbing the fear and pain of its victims. Once a superheroine dies, the Shapeshifter can absorb all of her powers. The Shapeshifter places Firebrand in numerous deathtraps, gaining strength from the superheroine’s struggle for survival.
