Biography
Vladimir Furdik (born 1 July 1970) is a Slovak stunt performer and actor. He played the role of the Night King on the television series Game of Thrones from 2016 to 2019.He is known as Furdo to friends and co-stars. Vladimir Furdik was born on 1 July 1970, in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia (now Slovakia).
Furdik started acting and stunt work early. Since 1970s, he was a member of theater groups in Czechoslovakia. He was a member of Tostabur Espadrones, a group that practiced, celebrated, and performed the traditional weaponry and fighting skills in Bratislava and throughout the country. He also participated in the theater and stunt Borseus, with which Natália Milanová, a minister of culture, also collaborated. The group was involved in performing and coordinating stunts in major films such as Kingdom of Heaven and Pearl Harbor and its leader Gustáv Kyselica became a mentor for the young Furdik.In the 1990s Furdik has already worked in Hollywood, first doing stunts for the low-budget horror film Tremors, but soon worked on The Three Musketeers.
Furdik moved from the predominantly stunt work to direct acting in the 2000s. He played the role of Andrzej, a gypsy in the film Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
