Jerzy Gruza

Jerzy Gruza, born on 4 April 1932 in Warsaw, died on 16 February 2020 in Pruszków, is a director and screenwriter for Polish cinema and television, occasionally an actor. He staged numerous plays for television. Jerzy Gruza completed his studies in 1956 at the Faculty of Cinematographic Production of the National School of Cinematography of Łódů. He is also the director in 1984 of the adaptation (cinema and television) of The Rose and the Ring (en) (Pierścień i róża) of William Makepeace Thackeray.Since 1983, he is director of the Musical Theatre of Gdynia (pl), where he staged numerous musicals: A violin on the roof in 1984, Jesus Christ Superstar in 1987, Les Misérables in 1989, L'Homme de la Manche in 1991, Łołnierz królowej Madagaskaru (pl) in 1991.
