Biography
Jon Sherman is also Jonathan A. Sherman, an American director and screenwriter, who became internationally known through films such as Sekt or Selters or Alle lieben Lucy. Jon Sherman, born Jonathan Andrew Sherman, has been working in the film business since the mid-1990s. In 1988 he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, and also studied at Columbia University in New York, where he graduated in screenwriting with an MFA (Master of Fine Arts) in 1994. In 1996 Sherman directed the romantic comedy Sekt or Selters, to which he also wrote the script. Susan Floyd and Dan Futterman played the leading roles. In 2002 he directed the comedy Alle lieben Lucy in the cast Monica Potter in the female lead role as Lucy and in the male supporting roles John Hannah, Gael García Bernal, Anthony LaPaglia, Henry Thomas and David Boreanaz. Jon Sherman had been able to commit the director Harold Ramis and Oscar winner Julie Christie in short guest star roles. The film produced by Fabien Liron and Tim Perell was shot at original venues in Manhattan. The film started as an opening film in 2002 at the Deauville Film Festival in France. In 2004 Sherman shot the television-produced film My Sexiest Mistake with Sabrina Lloyd In 2013, he co-directed the dramatic short film Breezewood alongside Jonathan Tazewell.In addition to working in the film, Jon Sherman also works as an assistant professor of film at Kenyon College, Ohio.
