Biography
Ramon Chibb is an Indian producer, writer and director known for his work in Hindi films and documentaries. He is the co-founder of Manomay Motion Pictures Pvt. Ltd. Chibb was born in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. His father served in the Indian Air Force, which meant that Ramon grew up in various cities such as Jorhat, Wellington, Agra, Baroda, Delhi, Secunderabad and Ahmedabad. He studied Economics at St. Xavier's College in Ahmedabad. In 1990, he enlisted the Indian Army and served in the Kumaon Regiment until 1995.Chibb began directing and producing documentaries, advertisements and TV shows in 1995. In 2003, he co-produced a local production of the National Geographic Channel in India, titled Mission Everest. He had also directed reality shows and documentaries for Zee, Star, NGC and UTV.Chibb was one of the founding members of the ZEE group which forayed into digital space in 2005. He was also Head of Development for ZEE's digital channel, DMCL.He later became Head of Content and Operations for UTV Bindass, a subsidiary of UTV. He would later go on to become the Head of Content for other channels such as the National Geographic and FOX in India.Chibb is best known for producing documentaries and TV shows revolving around the Indian Military. He produced and directed the first four ''Mission series'' for the National Geographic. Besides directing ''Mission Everest'', he has produced and directed ''Mission Udaan'', a documentary that depicts the life of the Indian Air Force and the Indian Navy.Since 2013, he has produced films and content under his own company, Maomay Motion Pictures.In 2022, he was the creative consultant for the film Laal Singh Chaddha.Chibb co-wrote the film Fighter, directed by Siddharth Anand of which he served as an executive producer.
