Biography

John Lee BSC began his career as a News Cameraman before joining the National Film and Television School to train as a Director of Photography. He is now in constant demand to photograph high profile television dramas. John’s most recent television credits include the forthcoming series BARKSKINS, directed by Darren Grant for National Geographic. Jed Mercurio’s BODYGUARD series was highly successful with the finale being the most-watched episode of a TV drama since records began. Other television productions include BAPTISTE, THE WIDOW, ORDEAL BY INNOCENCE, the entirety of the first series of VICTORIA and episodes one and two of the second series, SNATCH for Little Island Productions and RIPPER STREET for Tiger Aspect.


Feature Films include CHEERFUL WEATHER FOR THE WEDDING starring Felicity Jones and Luke Treadaway and THE POWDER ROOM starring Sheridan Smith.


Became a member of the BSC in December 2019.
