Biography
Inas El Degheidy is one of the most famous and controversial female directors in the Middle East. A blatant feminist, many of her movies discuss issues that pertain to women and their role in Arab societies and the plight of women in Middle Eastern culture. Most of her characters are empowered females and spread the message that women deserve the same freedoms as men in society. Her films are criticized by conservatives as being too risqué and racy.
